World Menstrual Hygiene Day: CHR to support 1000 vulnerable girls with sanitary pad in Kano

In commemoration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day celebration, Community Health Research Initiative, CHR said it will support no fewer than 1,000 girlw child with free sanitary pad in Kano state.

The Program Officer of the CHR in Kano, Umar Jalo stated this when he received Arewa Agenda group in Kano on Friday.

He said CHR has been providing iintervention to vulnerable girls child on several health issues, which mestrual hygiene is one key focus area to support.

He added that CHR would hold sensitization campaigns in four local government areas in a community l, which include School of Special Education at Tudun- Maliki Kano.

In her remarks, Zainab Naseer Ahmad, a free pad advocator said that a lot of girls undergo many problems and the source of solving them is to provide free pad for them, or reduce tax on pad in the countrybto make the price affordable to them.

“In our today outreach, we visited Kumbotso and Kano Municipal Local Government Areas, which we distributed 200 sanitary pads to 100 girls in Tudun Maliki special education school and Dan Agudi community and we plan to move forward within outside Kano,” Ms Ahmad said.
