Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Adamu, on Sunday, urged youths in the state to acquire various skills in order to become self-reliant.
Adamu, who gave the advise at his end of Eid-el-Fitr Sallah celebration message in Bauchi, also advised them to engage in meaningful endeavours that would dignify to them and the society at large.
“By engaging in the numerous and various skill acquisitions, you will meet up with the manpower demands, become self-reliant and be employers,” he said
The Emir commended Gov. Bala Mohammed for giving the emirate the opportunity and support to partake in the annual durbar horse riding activity during the Sallah celebrations.
“Last year’s Sallah celebration was done without any horse riding because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But this year, the governor reconsidered and granted the emirate the opportunity to celebrate the durbar.
“The sallah celebrations was hitch-free and successful and we thank Allah for that,” the Emir said.
Adamu also lauded the entire people of the emirate for their good conduct during and after the Sallah celebrations.
“The people gave us their support and love during the celebrations and everything went well. We appreciate them for that,” he said.
He prayed to Allah to grant the entire people in the emirate good health and the will to continue to live in peace and harmony with each other. (NAN)
