Revealed: Only 22 Out Of 54 African Countries Have Standard Football  Pitches. As CAF Begs  AFDB For  1 Billion US Dollars Bail Out

Africa’s football governing body, the  Confederation of African football have disclosed that out of the 54 countries on the continent, only 22 nations are adjudged to have standard football pitches that could play host to international football event.

According to a report released by the continental  governing body,  a vast number of African nations  have no football pitch that meets the standard to host international games.

Perturbed by the  poor state of  African football pitches , CAF took the decision  to approach the African Development Bank to bail the continent out  from its current football pitch dilemma.

An  African football delegation led by the President of world football governing body FIFA, Mr Gianni Infantino and the President of CAF, Dr Patrice Motsepe  visited  the President of African Development Bank, Dr Akinwunmi Adesina in Abidjan to ask for  $1billion lifeline for wholesale revamp of football infrastructure on the African continent.
