The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has begun a two-day training for 108 pension desk officers on the online enrollment application for prospective retirees.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that in Gombe on Monday that two participants were drawn from the 54 Federal Government Ministries, Department and Agencies in the North East subregion.
In his opening remark, Mr Anyim Nyerere Commissioner Technical PenCom said the workshop was aimed at equipping the desk officers with the knowledge on how to guide the prospective retirees, upload their information and all the necessary procedures.
The Commissioner who was represented by Mr Kehinde Awotunde Head of Department Contribution and Remittance Unit said the commission had developed online enrollment application with the capabilities to register, verify and enroll prospective retirees .
“The workshop would expose the participants to the newly developed online application form.
“Also would ensure that that the retirees information submitted by MDAs are accurately completed inline with online enrollment guidelines “, he said.
Also provide the guidance note accordingly which will help to compute the retirees retirement benefits.
He said the participants were expected to upload the list of potential retirees who have not been enrolled before as well as employees who have retired but missed previous enrollment.
Some of the participants who spoke to NAN in separate interviews, commended FG for the initiative .
According to them, the workshop would guide them on how to conduct the exercise without challenges.(NAN)
