A peacebuilding and Countering Violent Extremism practitioner, Abdussamad Ahmad Yusuf said the youth are at the priority Target when Advocating for peace building in community security inclusive at a one day sensitization on peace building , curbing conflict drivers and enhances security vigilance at Kofar Dawanau community in Kano with support from Equal Access International.
Mr. Ahmad said ,“it is partinent every citizen and member of a community to raise up with the challenges of insecurity; thus, complementing the national security by establishing and enhancing Inclussive community security structures.”
Abdussamad says, the event comprises youths from at-risk population, such as drug addicts, school drops-out and youth influencers football clubs members, captains, coaches and Others important dignitaries from Vigilante group,Nigeria Unity& Peace and Progress ,Nigeria Peace Corp members and More, he added.
However, the commandant of vigilante group Kula da Kanka at Dan dinshe command, Mal Sunusi Muhammad reiterated that, people have to first conquer their fears and establish an all-encompasing Community security architecture and register with appropriate authority before operation.
Mal Sunusi appealed to the youth on serving the community as a good samaritans, Ambassadors of peace and to report any any negative scene in the community to the appropriate authorities on any one found who’s aimed is to destablise the security of the community without any fear and biasness ,he added.
On his part, the Peace corp personel Malam Baballe, spoke to the audience on the need to sue for peace in whatever they do, effective utilization of security,and emphasized on peace building among others.
Moreover,the chief wardhead of Kofar Dawanau who was represented by his son Mahmud Saleh welcomed the development and pray that the youths in attendance would give a step down training and to be peace Ambassadors in The community.
Furthermore ,women and Girl-child rights activist zainab Nasser Ahmad, lamented that, women and girls are sanctioned from participating in peacebuilding and security beap up, women and girls are the nucleus of our societies; being the mothers, they are outshadowed in every decision and policy making even at community levels”
Miss Zainab added that, women should be empowered and be given the necessary support for the Inclussive in community security, Advocating for a peaceful environment.
Equal Access International has organized several training, workshop , seminar and sensitization on peace building and other related humanitarian support within and outside the State.
