…Saying, Party now confident to recapture the State, come 2023.
Three of the four recognized Political Camps in the Kano State branch of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), agree to forge a common front, to strategize to win the National Vice Chairmanship of the Northwest Geopolitical Zone, and subsequent general elections.
First attempt to hold the Northwest Zonal Congress of the Party in Kaduna on Saturday, April 10th, was disrupted by thugs brought to the venue by the fourth Political camp of the Party, resulting in rescheduling the exercise.
The three Camps that have agreed to work together to face other parties in all future local and general Elections are known as Ambassador Aminu Wali’s, Dr. Muhammadu Abubakar Rimi’s and Muhammadu Dauda Dangalan’s, which also played major role in the formation of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in 1998, with the fourth Camp is Kwankwasiyya.
Forging the common front by the three Political Camps of the Party in Kano State, became necessary for the party to consolidate to overcome both saboteurs from within, and external forces subverting the Party, who make winning elections impossible in the last eleven years.
This is despite the superior numerical strength of the People’s Democratic Party’s membership in Kano State and their unalloyed commitment to the Party continually rendered fruitless.
In 2015 the Party lost all the almost six hundred elective positions, while in 2019 it won only thirteen of all these elective positions to APC.
Victories at the polls, recorded by the Party in Kano State in 1999 and 2011, were informed by the team work of these three Camps, while its woeful performances in 2003, 2007, 2015 and 2019, were because there was no teamwork, and the high-handedness of the fourth Camp.
Under the new arrangement, separate Party officials of the three Camps, at Ward, Local Govt and State levels, would work together up to the time, Congresses at the three levels are conducted, with each Camp free to field candidates for any elective position.
The current coming together of the three Camps being made public by the Kano State branch of People’s Democratic Party, would test its winning potency, towards recapturing the Party’s lost glories, starting with backing candidature of Senator Bello Hayatu Gwarzo, for the National Vice Chairmanahip of the Party, in charge of Northwest Geopolitical Zone, who is already enjoying full support of over 95% of all PDP major stakeholders in the rest of the six States in the Zone, believing in his competence, consistent Party membership, and leadership capacity.
The three Political Camps in the Kano State People’s Democratic Party, organize public formalization of the new arrangement, on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, to be attended and graced by distinguished stakeholders, and other party members, from all the 44 local government areas.
