Jannat Isa, a trained yoga athlete has revealed the reason why she has ventured into the endeavor.
Isa, a 20-year old from Maiduguri, Borno State, disclosed that she was inspired to become a yoga practitioner by COVID-19 pandemic.
According to her, the pandemic had changed her life towards yoga student after undergoing online tutorial classes during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Isa, a student of accounting at Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu, Yobe state, said she started the yoga training with fear, adding that when her family got to know about her mission, they were very happy, support and encouraged her.
Isa however stated that she had never come across any northern lady from Nigeria practicing yoga, pointing out that they might be afraid of bullying , harrashment or abuses from same or other Glgender.
“Eeven though many have showed interest but they complain that their parents or guardians are against the yoga practice. They might be afraid of bullying or abuses,” she said.
Isa said that social media had promoted her to be known in practicing yoga, promising to make northern region and Nigeria proud in yoga practicing.
