The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Chieftain and 2019 gubernatorial candidate, Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi has expressed satisfaction with the level of development the administration of Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle has so far positioned the State.
Sani Shinkafi announced this while briefing Journalists on records been achieved by the present Bello Matawalle-led administration as it was preparing to celebrate it’s 2 year anniversary come June 12.
Shinkafi, who spoke on assessment of recorded achievements made by the PDP-led government in Zamfara State most attractively the conquer of banditry, kidnapping and cattle rustling, said the present administration was a complete APGA-like plans to turn the stones should his party was opportune to lead the affairs of the state.
The APGA Chieftain further pointed that, he was an appointed member of the committee which was constituted by Governor Matawalle to assess and find the genesis as well as solutions to the lingered security challenges under the Chairmanship of former Inspector General of Police, IGP M.D Abubakar (rtd).
“Our findings as committee then amongst other important issues was a discovery of payments of money amounted to 2.8 billion naira by the teeming families of abducted victims to the abductors within the time the bandits embarked on kidnapping innocent people for ransom.
“Zamfara State had suffered by the heat of security challenges which led to the destructions of worth millions of naira property and the lost of thousands of innocent lives, the situation compelled farmers, traders and merchants to remained unproductive for nearly a decade.
“This was the major cause of abject poverty amongst the teeming populace in the state as there were formidable restrictions on socioeconomic activities across almost the 14 local government areas of the state.
“The nasty development had according to investigation by our committee, left behind 25,000 children as orphans and 6,500 widows as well upon which Governor Matawalle acted to alleviate their bitter feelings, and also acted to face the security challenges as according to recommendations by the committee”, Shinkafi has explained.
