Following the reports that 17 out of the hundreds abducted students Kankara Science Secondary School were found, parents on Wednesday have assembled in the school premises to register their plea to the government of Katsina state to release the names of the found students.

The parents according to eyewitness, arrived at the Government Science Secondary School (GSSS), Kankara Katsina state in dozens, praying that their kidnapped wards will regain freedom from the bandits.

But, the leader Boko Haram fighters, Abubakar Shekau has in an audio clip claimed responsibility for the attack and abduction of the students.

However, Governor Masari who briefed President Buhari at his Daura resident on the development said that, the government of Katsina state had engaged in dialogue with the captives for their safe return unharmed.

On Tuesday, scores of children’s parents were seen to have seated in groups, discussing quietly about their children. among other issues, even as they have called on security agencies to release the names of the 17 students reported to have been found after the attack – they also denied Masari’s claims that the number of the abducted students were 333.

But the Katsina state governor, Mr Aminu Masari in an interview with BBC Hausa on Wednesday night said the abducted students was at Zamfara forest.

Masari said the available information before him, confirmed that the Kidnapped katsina school students was at a forest in zamfara.
He confirmed that his government is negotiating with the bandits aims to rescue the abducted students.

PRIME TIME NEWS recalled that gunmen stormed the school premises on friday in large numbers shortly after prep, and kidnapped hundreds of the students before they were all forced to be moved into the forest which the school was situated close to.

On Wednesday, sources told PRIME TIME NEWS that the abductors forced the kidnapped students to trekked into the Bush, while hundreds of shoes believed to be of the students were sighted behind the school to the Bush.

However, some students were later believed to have escaped from their captives and narrated their ordeal, “we’re counted before by the gunmen before they took us inside the forest and our number reached 520”. They said.

One of the escapees said they were beaten severely like animals and made to eat wild leaves, “the gunmen also forced us to drink from dirty brooks mostly used by grazing animals.” He added.

The parents, however, called on Katsina state government to immediately release the 17 students who were reported to have been found shortly after the attack or publish their names.

Governor Aminu Bello Masari had in an interview, said government was in contact with the gunmen, and that 17 of the students had been found.

One of the parent, Bashir Hamisu, whose son, Mujahid Abdul, 12, is among those abducted, said they had heard about the 17 found students, but yet to see or know who they were.

“We are yet to see or hear fr the students. We call on government to release them or their identities, so that they could reunited with the families.”
