The Management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has appealed to all its customers across its franchise to play their part by paying electricity bills to sustain the quality service delivery already being witnessed in Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States.
This was contained in a statement signed by Mr Ibrahim Sani Shawai, the KEDCO Head of Corporate Communications.
It has become extremely necessary to remind our customers that the power sector business in Kano franchise is a partnership package that needs collective commitment of all stakeholders to work effectively.
It has been attested to that power supply has tremendously improved in Kano franchise, yet some of our customers’ attitude to payment is not commensurate with efforts by KEDCO.
Customers must pay their bills and in paying the bills should be done in full; as partners, we must look out for each other to grow the power sector in Kano franchise.
It has similarly been observed that some customers are deliberately refusing to pay their bills and whenever they are disconnected find their way around through illegal connections. We wish to warn that anyone found indulging in illegal connection will be taken to the electricity offences taskforce for subsequent actions by the tribunal.
Customers must know that paying their bills in time and in full means supporting KEDCO to sustain quality improvement in service delivery to other stakeholders.
