The National Agency for the Control of Aids, NACA expresses optimism that
the UNAIDS 95 95 95 target will soon be commenced to bring the ratio of the virus to zero.
UNAIDS 95 95 95 targets is an international recognized way of eliminating HIV AIDS through diagnosis, treatment and viral load.
The Director-General of NACA, Dr. Gambo Aliyu made this known to newsmen during a five days workshop on IBBSS to NACA teams in Kano.
Gambo says the level of commitment to sustain the fight against HIV AIDS by Buhari led-administration is significant, adding that NACA is doing everything possible to reduce the prevalence of the disease nationwide.
The Director-General of the agency, said that communities have been playing critical roles in the epidemic control and such efforts need an urgent scale-up to address the reality of shrinking international funding.
Dr. Gambo says Nigeria is determined to end HIV epidemic by 2030, in line with the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS vision.
