Kano State Anti-Corruption and public complaint commission has denied investigating the Deputy Governor of the state, Mr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, who doubled as commissioner for Agriculture.
The anti graft agency is investigating some officials in the ministry over racketeering, amounting to over N7 million, which allegedly involves the permanent secretary and other directors.
Mr Muhuyi Rimingado, Chairman of the anti graft commission denied the media report in a press release made to reporters in Kano linking the deputy governor into the investigation.
According to Mr Rimin Gado, a lawyer by profession the investigation was carried out with the consent of the deputy governor, who was not even aware of the said racketeering.
The statement quoted “Any attempt to involve the deputy governor is sensational, false and misleading”.
“For the clarity of doubt, the investigation was initiated with full consent, support and cooperation of His Excellency the Deputy Governor”.
