Meet Fauziyya D Suleiman female script writer with over 100 movie scripts record

Fauziyya D Suleiman has become a force to reckoned with in the Hausa movie making industry. She among the few female writers the industry has ever produced. She is also a a true members of Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA). The writer had successfully written over 100 scripts for Kannywood movie as well other dozen stories published in a form of prose.

She got married in 1999 and still went ahead with her search for knowledge. While married Fauziyya joined College of Health Sciences, School of Hygiene for assistance nutritionist diploma, she also did a certificate course on Hotel and catering Management in Kano state School of Management Studies. While in the entertainment sector Fauziyya had attended series of courses on story and script writing.

Born in Fagge in 1981, she attended Fagge Festival Primary school; and later proceeded to Government Girl’s Secondary School ‘Yar Gaya where she did her junior secondary school. Fauziyya joined Government Girl’s College Dala were she did her SSCE.

Due to her love for books, she started writing at a very young age and her first book was published when she was 21 years old, the book became a hit among Hausa prose readers across the country. The book titled ‘Me nayi mata’ was published in 2002 and after that successful book Fauziyya wrote and published over 30 books.

“Reading books has been my best way of relaxing I love reading books, therefore when I begun working as a health worker my mind was with writing and my writing carrier begun even before I started working. Therefore, as I have said earlier I have written my first book when I was just 21 years old and my writings led me to acquire script writing skills which helped me in my carrier as a scriptwriter in Kannywood.

Writing has been in me right from my secondary school days and I wrote my first book in 2002 titled ‘Me nayi mata’ and from that book I wrote over 30 published books before joining the Kannywood film making industry as a story writer. I have written over 100 stories that were made into films so far. I am also one of the writers of ‘Dadin Kowa and Kwana Casa’in’ TV series aired at Arewa24,” she said.

Some of Fauziyya’s works include, Rayuwar Matsalar mace, Mijin uwa, Me nayi mata’ ‘Ya mace, Mece ce rayuwa, Burin raina, Karshen wahala, Labarin Zuciya, ‘Kishin banza. Guduna ake yi, among others.

As a writer Fauziyya revealed that, she faced numerous challenges, especially when stories she wrote as a fictional book or a script for movies coincides with someone’s personal life. “On such occasion I usually receive accolades or condemnations, but I was not deterred, I tried to make them understand that either ways it is a coincidence,” she revealed.
