Wike

Nigerians seem to be divided over Governor Nyesom Wike and Governor El-Rufai, as to who should speak at the Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference.

While some argued that Wike is no better than El-rufai, having recently demolished people’s properties under the guise of COVID-19 Protocol violation, without court orders, others maintained that despite El-rufai’s impressive approach to governance, he’s presiding over a state with unprecedented carnage, yet hasn’t done enough to end it.

Southern Kaduna

Governor El-Rufai’s decision not to speak to the people of Southern Kaduna is a big barrier to the resolution of the crisis – Mark Jacob Zamah, former Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Kaduna State, said this on Channels TV sunrise show.

Some Nigerians who reacted on Twitter, however, disagreed with this position, maintaining that the crisis which predates the El-Rufai’s administration required more of a systematic approach.

Jigawa

Hilarious reactions have followed the alleged threat by Jigawa State branch of Nigerian Bar Association to boycott the 2020 Annual General Conference, if the decision to cancel El-Rufai’s invitation is not reversed.

Many Nigerians on social media laughed over the reported threat, while some feared that the development could set a bad precedent in a respected association such as the NBA.
