COVID-19: NEPWAN, USAID/UNAIDS Distribute Money To Over 500 Household In Kano


The national body of Network of people living with HIV/Aids of Nigeria (NEPWAN) to support over 500 members in Kano with the sum of N20,000 as the assistance of COVID-19 in collaboration with USAID/UNAIDS

This was disclosed by the National Coordinator of the association, Malam Abdulkadir Ibrahim, when he led the national delegation to Kano for the presentation of palliatives for COVID-19 to the state chapter and to engage the Director-General of the Agency.

The items delivered includes 42 cartons of Dettol soaps, 60 cartoons of Jik amongst others.

Earlier, the Director-General of Kano State Agency for the Control of Aids, Dr Sabitu Y. Shu’aibu Shanono expresses his appreciation to the national coordinator, urging the state chapter to distribute the items not only to registered members but to the entire people living with the virus in nooks and crannies of the state.

Dr Shanono said the Agency is working in harmony with all supportive groups, and engaging all their clients in their activities.

He further stressed that the State government under His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kano State Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR is doing all the needful in order to control HIV/AIDS, COVID-19 and other diseases in the state.

In his remarks, the chairman of NEPWAN Kano, Alh Nuhu Tella Gaya thanked the national body for the gesture and also appreciate the support they are receiving under the able leadership of the DG Dr Sabitu Y Shanono.
