As the world is fighting the ongoing pandemic, most of the countries were compelled to enforce lockdown to minimize and possibly stem the spread of the contagious virus.
Since it has become an established fact that lockdown is the only solution, we also witness some drastic aftereffects of this.
The biggest of them are joblessness and profiteering. Unfortunately, we don’t have control over the first one but we can definitely crush the latter one. Joblessness is an obvious phenomenon in these circumstances but profiteering is synthetic and engineered for illegal benefits.
Woefully, we see this practice in our markets inspite of the fact that Prophet Muhammad SAW instructed us not to do it. That’s shameful to know that non-muslim nations give relief packages in Holy month like Ramadan while Muslims hike the prices. Same is happening these days, all the necessary item’s prices are sky high. This is shameful and unacceptable.
The Head of Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has a firm stance against those who practice this. He instructed this in his sermon in following words.
“I would like to say something to all Ahmadi businessmen and that is that they should not unnecessarily try to make extra profit during these days.
Instead of trying to make extra profit, especially those people who trade in food items and other essentials, they ought to sell them at a rate to make the least amount of profit.
These are the days in which we can serve humanity”
”I think this is the time to serve humanity, rather than taking illegal benefits. It’s high we act upon these points. May everyone pays heed to this and try to make things easier for already underprivileged.”
