KAROTA officer faces automatic dismissal for wrongdoings

A personnel of Kano Road Transport Agency (KAROTA) is facing automatic dismissal from service for allegedly committing a criminal offence, contrary to the agency’s laws. 

PRIME TIMES NEWS reports that the said KAROTA officer (name withheld) was said to have engaged in fighting with one motorist on Saturday and broke his leg during the fight. 

The embattled officer was then arrested by Police and could be charged to court for criminal offence. 

In a media briefing on Monday, the Managing Director of KAROTA, Baffa Babba Dan’agundi stated that the officer had committed an offence punishable by automatic dismissal if found guilty. 

He said the personnel could be charged to court for criminal offence by the Police, adding that if found culpable of the said offence, he would be automatically dismissed as the agency’s law provided. 

While thanking the Police for arresting the KAROTA officer, Mr Dan’gundi said the personnel could have faced worse punishment if brought to the agency. 

He also called on his personnels to always exhibit good behavior and professionalism in discharging their duties, stressing that whoever breaks the agency’s law while on the job would be punished accordingly.
