Managing Director of Kano Road Transport, KAROTA, Baffa Babba Dan Agundi has disclosed that the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has released the sum of N250 million for the agency.
Mr Dan’gundi told reporters on Monday that the fund was meant for purchasing new vehicles and overhauling the broken ones.
He added that the money would also be used to settle the backlog of allowances and other running costs of the agency.
DanAgundi also commended Mr Ganduje for the timely release of the fund, adding that the governor had always been supportive to the agency.
“There is no month that passes that we feel we are in problem or scarcity of funds . The governor has been supportive to us always and we thank him for that,” he said.
Mr Dan’gundi also stated that the agency is set to relocate Luxurious Bus park from Sabongari to Unguwa Uku Motor park, adding that the decision is for the benefit of the operators and the people of Kano.
“We did not mean to cause inconvenience to the operators. We have done this with good faith. It will be a win-win situation for the benefit of the operators and the people of Kano,” he said.
