BREAKING: Police arrest northern group leader for leading protest against banditry in Katsina




Police in Katsina state have reportedly arrested Nastura Ashir Sharif, Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG).

In a tersed statement sent to PRIME TIME NEWS by a member of the group on Wednesday morning, Mr Sharif is currently being detained at the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.

“He was arrested and moved to Abuja shortly after the peaceful protests in Katsina against killings of helpless citizens by bandits,” the statement said.

Recall that CNG is known for issuing ultimatum to all the Igbos living in northern Nigeria to vacate the region.
