Army Intensifies Onslaught On Boko Haram Criminals, Kill Dozens In North-East


The troops of the Nigerian Army Tuesday said that they have decisively annihilated more Boko Haram terrorists and arrested others in the northeastern region of Nigeria.

This was contained in a statement issued to PRIME TIME NEWS on Tuesday and signed by Major General John Enenche, the Defence Media Operations Coordinator, Defence Headquarters Abuja.

This development according to Major General Enenche was in line with the continuous efforts to clear operations and atrocities of Boko Haram)ISWAP fighters in the North-East.

He recalled that troops of 192 Battalion, Gwoza, had on 8th June conducted a daring and well-coordinated commando raid on a Boko Haram criminals’ hideout at Kwatara on the Mandara Mountains.

“The successful operation led to the neutralization of several terrorists while many others fled with gunshot wounds.” He said.

“Also on 8 June 2020, troops of 151 Battalion deployed at Strong Response Area Miyanti conducted a deliberate ambush operation against Boko Haram criminals along Darel Jamel – Miyanti Road and successfully neutralized two terrorists while two women were rescued in the process. Troops also recovered 2 bicycles, one sack containing 121 pairs of new rubber slippers and the sum of Twenty Nine Thousand and Five Hundred Naira (N 29,500.00) only.” He narrated.

However, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Yusuf Tukur Buratai who urged the troops to remain steadfast in protecting and sustaining their deadly onslaught against terrorists, applauded them for their resilience  and dedication to defend Nigeria.
