Kano Consumer Protection Council To Investigate Viral Video Of Semolina Containing Plastic Particles

The Kano State Consumer Protection Council is aware of a viral video trending in social media showing an unidentified woman speaking in Hausa language in Kano State removing a remnant purported to be a plastic after repeatedly washing a pack of Golden
Penny Semovita with water.

In a statement issued to PRIME TIME NEWS on Sunday and signed by the Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KSCPC) Managing Director, Dr Yusuf Muhammad Sabo, confirmed the development.

The Council has also received various calls from prominent people in the state about the video and based on that mechanism of immediate investigation has been set up and come with a comprehensive report on that video.

The council would continue to promote the rights of consumers in the state and protect them against hazardous, sub-standard and expired products through regular public enlightenment and sensitization and also urge any consumer to lodge their complaints to the Agency whenever their rights are infringed upon.
